Regular duties are suspended for three days at Fort Campbell, which leads the Army in suicides this year, so commanders can identify and help soldiers who are struggling with the stress of war and most at risk for killing themselves.

According to Paul Rieckhoff on Keith Olbermann we lost more soldiers last month to suicide then in combat with Al-qaeda. We can not continue to send our troops on tour after tour after tour and not expect them to crack. Sooner or later everyone reaches a breaking point and this year the soldiers at Ft Campbell were experiencing more then 1 suicide per week. Enough is enough.

Paul Reickhoff and the IAVA have done great work in lobbying and creating awareness about mental health issues for active military and vets. Hats off! There have been some disturbing stories about how some bases have handled some of these issues. Education and awareness is key. There is no stigma in getting a 'visible' war injury treated, there should be no stigma in getting help for an 'invisible' one. IAVA.org
